Yesterday, hubby and I went to Sungai Buluh looking to put down a new lawn quickly to cover unsightly dirt area infront of our house that had been affected by the ongoing road widening project. There are quite a number of grass farmers in Sungai Buloh but we went to the farm that we're quite used to visit. There are various types of grass but the one we're looking for is the pearl grass. We had planted the Philipines grass before, but changed to pearl type as the later is easier to manage, sort of maintenance free .
While hubby negotiating for the price, I took the opportunity to "interview" the workers viz Asri and Yani, both from Java, Indonesia. They both been working in the grass farm for the pass three years. According to them it takes roughly a month for the seed to grow and can be fully harvested after just three months. hhmmm frankly it's not really a tough job I should say, since I had tried helping out my maid trans-planting grass before

FMDC Street Photography
Again? Well I don't mind..this is the type of photography that I love most...I joined a group of roughly 30 FMDC’s street shooters yesterday. It was coordinated by Saiful Rizal (SR) and Mr. Zainal Halim was the guest speaker. We had assembled at the Jalan Melayu /Jln Masjid India entrance. The briefing by Mr. Zainal was held in Dataran Merdeka from thereon street shooters were advised to walk in pair for the mission. Abahwafi and I had excused ourselves and were on “lone ranger” as we had to leave early from the shooting location.
Since I had to leave early, I had planned not to go very far from the Jalan Masjid India LRT station. A group of people queuing for the free distribution of special porridge also known as “bubur lambuk” had attracted my attention. I squeezed myself and entered the area where the porridge was being distributed. I met Mr. Mohd Yunus the manager who manages the free distribution porridge to the people for 30 days during Ramadhan. According to him the fund received from various companies and organizations is used to prepare 12 big containers of porridge everyday. The cost of preparation in a day is RM1,400 and Sadakatullah is the person entrusted to handle the preparation and distribution of the porridge.
I spent almost 45 minutes watching the free porridge distribution and moved elsewhere when just realized it was almost 5.30 pm. The next target was a trader selling perfumes. Izhar, the perfumes trader has been in business for the past 3 years. I chatted with him while waiting for the customers and came to know some sought after perfumes by many muslims such as seribu bunga, bunga tanjung, bunga melor, madina, kelambu kaabah etc…believe it or not I ended up purchasing a bottle of madina perfume!!
As I was in a hurry to catch the lrt, the rest of the street shots were successfully captured by just throwing my sweetest smiles to the traders and showing my 16-35 lens…

Friday Prayer in busy Street of Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur
| Quote: | | It is forbidden to work on Fridays after the call for the prayer was announced because Allah says in surat Al-Jumu’ah, (verse 9), what can be translated as, "When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday hasten earnestly to the remembrance of Allah, and leave off business |
It is forbidden to talk during the Khutbah
Friday prayer must be held in mass and it cannot be offered individually
It is obligatory for every Mukallaf free man, who is not a traveler and blind, old and very weak, to participate in Friday prayer, provided that his distance from the place of offering prayer is not more than two Farsakhs
I seek refuge in God from Satan the rejected
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Prayer carries us half way to Allah, fasting brings us to the door of His palace and alms deeds (Sadakah) cause us to enter.

Office Workers in KL City Centre During Lunch Break
Initially I had planned to shoot the seasonal traders in Jalan Masjid India area on the first day of the Ramadhan...but the moment I "touched down" from the LRT Masjid Jamek station, the weather seemed to be cloudy and hence had diverted the theme to the one that I had been procastinating to shoot viz the office workers during lunch break. It's a short mission which I managed to accomplished within 25 minutes... well you don't have to worry about the outcome, as usual it's of my own set of standard!!..I shoot what I like and feel like shooting .. I think I should have my own identity from now on..shalI I call my style of photographing as Zain's BlasTography??..I beg your pardon??the meaning??..Zain blasah photography ma...

COMICS CARNIVAL: GEMPAK STARZ
The school break just started, and since early morning my daughter Adeeba had been pestering me to take her “jalan-jalan”. Despite being told that her brother has got doctor’s appointment, that did not deter her from kept on begging. Right after Hadee's appointment we went home but like it or not, for her sake after the zohor prayer I had asked her to get ready as her brother had offered to drive for the “jalan-jalan”. When Hadee asked for the destination, I had simply directed him to take Jalan Tun Perak heading Sungai Wang. As we arrived at the concourse of the complex the Comics Carnival organized by Gempak Starz was ongoing. Adeeba was so excited...but what about her brother hadee??When I asked him to have a closer look at the carnival ..in short he answered..”setiap orang ada cita rasa yang berbeza”...blueeeeekss

Street Photography: The Central Market, Kuala Lumpur
Why is Central Market (CM) always a favourite photographing spot to me??why??None other than the people.. You can sit around the area of CM be it inside or outside, and have a lot of subjects to capture. But yesterday, I already set my mind my subject will be just ladies...yes the theme of the day was "Aweks in CM" I "parked and reparked" myself outside CM from 10.30 am to almost 12.30 pm. I enjoyed photographing alone when the children (Adeeba and Marlia, our adopted Sabahan daughter) were already gone sauntering inside the CM. ..oh btw, last week the theme was children at the Jalan Masjid India, KL..visit here http://www.fotopages.com.my/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5055

"the monster" getting ready

On 31st of July, right after the meeting I received a phone call from hubby informing that “the monster” was at home to demolish the gates, fences, Christmas and star fruit trees. I rushed home to witness the demolition. The moment I arrived, the cutting of the fences was ongoing; some of the workers were busy removing and shifting the plants while the driver of the “monster” was waiting eagerly to start the demolition. Once the workers cleared what needed to be cleared, “the monster” slowly demolished part by part of the concrete blocks that hold the fences as well as the polls of the gates. The 8 and 3 feet gates were demolished within minutes. Actually the Christmas and star fruit trees were not affected by the road widening project but we decided to fell both as well since we were thinking that it’s best to clear all, having in mind of probably a totally new landscape once the project completed. The only regret that we had was that of the Christmas tree, it took years to grow it to the present height. I remembered it was again our late father who planted the tree and if not mistaken that time I was in my primary school…now all left for me to cherish is just the memories…

In the Name of Development III:the fate of our vehicles
Ever since the road widening project started and the shack that used to shade our vehicles demolished, every morning all the four vehicles at home will be covered with dew ...except for the bike which is "happily settled" at the entrance of the house. If it happened to be raining, it will be worst as all the tires will be covered with mud. We have to bear with this condition until the project completed. Normally, I do not really care if the vehicle that I used to drive to office is a bit dirty, but this morning I really couldn’t stand looking at it and during lunch break I took the vehicle to a nearby car wash and happened to have brought the camera along. so what else??..dei tamby kasi cuci lah….aci mau kasi tangkap itu gambar…well, it’s a manual snow car wash service, the so-called “snow” is actually the foamy detergent used. At one time in our country, the auto-car wash was quite popular but for some unknown reason, many had to be closed and replaced with the manual way. Whatever, I bet many prefer their vehicles to be washed manually, it’s cleaner, amongst other reasons…what say you??

In the Name of Development II: the fate of our pet animals
Guess what??Amongts our pet animals, Who do you think couldn’t be bothered with what happened or will happen to the surrounding be it due to the road widening project or thunderstorm outside the house?? Ehmm..None other than Qaseem, our pet fish (puyu) and BeeWee, the lazy cat!! I don't think that both of them sympathize with the poor Tika, Tiki and Kaka, the geese and the "ayam serama" who have been temporarily shifted/moved close to Yankee, the pet monkey. Well, animals are animals, but I believe they too will surely voice out their unhappiness or grievences if they could communicate/talk with human...
Qaseem our petfish...I simply shoot using the 70-200..who cares??
BeeWee the lazy cat..nko ni tau tido tido tido..menatang lain susah hati nko tak kisah eik??
